Update: After our call, Jack Sherborne mentioned their GeoAid program. Yet another reason to like this company.

GeoAid is a humanitarian organization Geovic created in 1999 to help the indigenous people of Cameroon support both themselves and the project we intend to develop with them over the coming decades. We expect to spend $3.5 million over the next few years on GeoAid, and have already had a great deal of success working with these people. Consequently, we believe our ties to the Cameroonian government and local populations are very strong.

Jack also mentioned that they plan to have their Feasibility Optimization Study published by July, major construction to commence after the rainy season ends in November 2008, and production to commence in late 2010.
